It’s no secret that the past few years have been unprecedented – filled with events that have challenged our being, our way of life, and the lens through which we view the world, and all of these events can and often do trigger our nervous system.

When our nervous system is activated into a hypo or hyper-activated state (in a very simplified manner), the entirety of our being isn’t online. Our self-preservation and self-safety systems kick in and take over AUTOMATICALLY. This is known as a trauma response.

Our bodies don’t differentiate between the threat of a bear chasing us or a fear-mongering headline. This is why learning to regulate your nervous system becomes so important especially as a business owner during turbulent times. Simply being a entrepreneur can be traumatic in and of it self and when you combine that with the collective narrative it can be hard to stay grounded and not make impulsive decisions.

I believe if we can become more aware and have more knowledge about what is happening in our bodies, we can take the first step to move through that traumatic event or that triggering situation, extracting the lesson, reckoning with or tending to the story around it, and stepping on the path to embodiment, integration, and becoming.

Trauma and triggers are a part of life. Ultimately, we cannot avoid them unless we never leave our house (also a trauma response). The point is trauma happens…it is not a matter of if; it is a matter of when and what we will do with that when it happens.

Today, inside my HD Wild Certification, I am starting a series, which will be added to Founding Member’s Catalyst Reports in May and later become a course on Triggers and Traumas in the centers and the Trauma of Business. I thought I would share with you a snippet of this HD Wild exclusive (for now) workshop on Trauma and Triggers through the centers.

I included both the collective traumas and personal traumas that may reside and get stuck in each of the centers and keep us out of congruence with the high expression of that center. In order to process these traumas and triggers, we must get to the root of the story we tell ourselves around the trauma. We must reckon with it, tend to it, integrate the learning, and allow it to move through us instead of getting stuck and becoming a part of who we are. This expression can happen in both the defined and undefined/open centers.

Let me know which one resonates with you if you feel called to share. It’s time we talk about these things instead of thinking we are alone.

For me, I get triggered by the fear of success because of the trauma of being told I was too much as a child. What about you?

With your design in mind,

Jamie
